Thanks to Musikfonds I was able to complete Karta!
This album started in my mind in 1993 when Horn player star Harald Sack Ziegler gave me his Tascam 4 Track Tape Recorder.
I started working on blending Pontic Greek dance songs with breakbeats.
Now I was finally able to connect musicians and producers who could turn my vision into reality.
The most important thing for me was to connect different cultural and musical circles and to unite different musicians who otherwise would not play together to achieve a fusion of styles and disciplines, while emphasizing the similarities of traditional Greek and Pontic music and Western electronic club music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Thank you to all the musicians, to Kanarini music school Berlin run by Aspa Anogiati and our Baglama teacher John Chief Stergiou who introduced me to Pavlos Tsavdaris and to Musikfonds who made this happen.

These tracks were recorded around the same time as their self-titled debut, and while that was excellent, I reckon this to be twice as good. Funky, chunky, melodic and lyrically superlative, Mark E. By taking my eye off the ball and being so excited about HOUSE Of ALL's eponymous debut released just four months earlier, I completely missed this one, at least until today. There's a couple of remixes and a few live versions of tracks from the first album, so overall it's a cracker. It rumbles along occasionally going out of control much like what you'd expect from a Fall/HOUSE Of ALL related product. Gavin Hellyer
